Nollendorfplatz is an intersection of all sorts of transportation and the station is a complex of its own. The station is home to four subway lines, with two underground platforms and one elevated track.
The most beautiful part of the station is the entrance, close to which several memorials are built in remembrance of victims of persecution during the Second World War. One of these memorials is inside the station and has quite an impressive architecture. The memorial is adjacent to the main hall of the station and because it is a bit receded, the station noises are not as loud as anywhere else in the station. A beautiful effect, very much in line with the purpose of such a space.
This episode features the following sounds:
- Entrance Bahnhof Nollendorfplatz, ticket verding machines, talking passengers (start-3:20)
- A greeting by a vendor in one of the stalls on the basement floor of the station (repeated; 0:15)
